Ricardo Vilar
Ricardo Vilar was born in the city of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil, on February 27, 1972 where he lives to this day.
He sold his first sword in 1993 and is since a full time devotee of blade making.
Ricardo Vilar is the co-organizer of the Cutlery seminar with Master Smith Jerry Fisk in November 2001, which took place at his own workshop. He has been forging ever since.
This seminar was the event that led to the founding of the Brazilian Bladesmith Society, of which Ricardo Vilar is currently the president.
In 2001 he became a member of the American Bladesmith Society
He was, in 2005, the first South American to attain the degree of Journeyman Smith by the ABS.
