On the spot Architecture
One may have an idea, a
concept about how things will happen, but wrapping the body itself
becomes a purely instinctive act.
Enveloping, and the manyfolds of a material cannot be something
that is planned beforehand.
The first ply tells you what to do next, and so forth. Each fold teaches
oneself how to go from there.
I resourted to the memory of nomad people as well as Indians and
Tuaregs, and how they wrap themselves with materials, an in that
invocation I built one moment after another.
Here, right at the photographic studio, I was captured with Lucilia
wrapping an incredibly beautiful saree, trying to resist to use any of
the traditional nine ways to wear it. I hope you enjoy this album
published in 1993.
