MAPLE BURL CICADA FORGE CHOKUTO

The concept of this Cicada Forge Chokuto resides in the beauty of Maple Burl put into a Shirasaya combined with traditional horn parts to be used, namely the Kojiri and Koiguchi in the Saya, and the Fuchi-Gashira in the Tsuka. Maple Burl provides a strong and rich wood and what is expected is that the Habaki can be inserted very tightly into the saya for extra security. The Chokuto blade is expected to be the lighter New Chokuto version in 25 inches length with one single horn mekugi since the entire tsuka and the nakago should be epoxy glued together.
Note the shape of the Kashira as well as the tsuka anatomical curve. On the other hand the sides of the oval saya have been flattened as can be seen in the cross-section.
IMPORTANT: If the saya is also extra strongly glued, then we can expect to achieve a saya larger diameter that is not too distant from the blade width. This will make the Shirasaya lighter yet strong, and will allow it to look sleek and close to a bokken's diameter.
On the other hand, the chokuto 25 inches blade is to remain in its factory polish.
