BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Every now and then, someone appears with enough talent and humbly shows it.
On my many years of dealing with different arts as well as crafts, I found a compulsion as well as my personal civic duty to promote  artists and craftsmen of different areas, from photographers to sculptors to painters, bladesmiths, fittings makers, and so forth, some of which are even included in my links page, such as the Exhibition of Marta Nishimura as a mere example.
In the particular case of Kendall Chow, I found his first work posted here at SFI and its cuttlebone casting of silver and bronze immediately drew my attention.

Kendall's own design fuchi-gashira in silver and bronze. Cuttlebone pattern.

Kendall's own wood pattern design bronze set.

The observation of Kendall's cuttlefish pattern set prompted me to think of a design that would somehow complement my early radial tsuba design. It has been waiting in my mind for years.
I contacted Kendall who accepted my proposal of crafting from carving wax until the finished piece a set which I aimed for simplicity of grooves that corresponded to the concentric circular grooves of the radial tsuba.
The work came out superbly as can be seen in the pictures below.
The capacity of progression of Kendall Chow is great, specially since he is both educated in design and is very good at wax carving, silver or bronze casting, and has a brilliant inteligence which leads him to adapt to his own technique the designs such as the cuttelfish fittings as well as hids own way to render the wood pattern set in bronze.

Kendall's second set of my design with blackened flat surfaces.

There is not much left to say except for the high self-demand on a very brilliant and promising student of jewelry which will undoubtedly invade other techniques as time passes.
May he remain always the same kind and simple person, for that is and added asset to his talent.
